The Geospatial Institute at Saint Louis University (GeoSLU) began as an awardee of an internally funded Big Ideas grant.

GeoSLU now has over a dozen affiliated faculty faculty representing fields from public health, sociology, aviation, finance, computer science and social justice, and a $10M research and training portfolio.

SLU leadership led to the creation of the regional Taylor Geospatial Initiative, and the three faculty leaders of GeoSLU, Dr. Vasit Sagan, Dr. Ness Sandoval and Dr. Enbal Shacham, are now three of the seven Academic Leaders of the Taylor Geospatial Initiative.
I am proud to have been part of the team that got GeoSLU started, here we are at the first GeoResolution Conference in 2019. Saint Louis is now well on its way to being the hub of geospatial research in the Nation.
